The Boy Scouts of America can be an important part of a young boy's life, as well as their adult lives. Cooperstown Boy Scout troop 1254 has been helping to raise fine young men since troops 12 and 54 were combined in the early 1970s. The troop has many Eagle Scouts, which is the highest attainable rank in scouting. The great trips that the troop goes on may draw young scouts to the troop, but once they join, the Scoutmasters and Senior Scouts in the troop will not let the scouts do any less than they are capable of—they are taught leadership and other skills which build self pride, and are often fun. Once they decide to stay, they are on the trail to become one of the troops next Eagle Scouts in Boy Scout Troop 1254 History. If you are between the ages of 11 and 18 and would like to join our troop, or if you are over 18 and would like to be an Assistant Scoutmaster, by all means let us know that you're interested! You can come to one of the meetings which are every tuesday night (if there is school that day) in the Elementary School Gymnasium in Cooperstown. You may also wish to send us mail to let us know of your interest.
